39th Fall Tour of Home and Gardens – The historic beauty and charm of Charleston come alive this October as friends of the Preservation Society of Charleston welcome you inside the private interiors of some of the nation’s most exceptional historic houses. Experience firsthand the rich history of Charleston’s culture, architecture and hospitality on The Fall Tours.

Charleston Farmers Market – The CFM is dedicated to the support and advocacy of Lowcountry farmers, growers, prepared/packaged food, artisans, crafters and live performers. We offer a variety of local produce, plants, herbs and cut flowers as well as breakfast and lunch vendors, live entertainment and an assortment of juried arts and crafts from local artisans. Attracting citizens and visitors alike, the CFM is the community connection, bringing together people from all parts of the Lowcountry and beyond. Whether you are a local that joins us each weekend or a visitor just passing through, we have something for everyone and we appreciate your support!

Johns Island Homegrown Farmers Market – The aim of Homegrown is to be a point of sustainable connection for the Lowcountry community.  We want this market to be a one-stop-shop for everything on your shopping list to be sourced locally. Homegrown also holds a mission of bringing interactive ways to educate your community on the health and environmental benefits of making sustainable choices. Homegrown offers classes, demos, and interactive opportunities for locals to be active in making sustainable choices in their lives. (i.e. observation bee hives, crochet/craft classes, live animal and homesteading information).

Lowcountry Paws & Claws Pet Expo returns to the Charleston Area Convnetion Center on Saturday, October 10th. Don’t miss the Lowcountry’s #1 event for you and your furry family members. There will be fun and educational presentations, adorable adoptable pets, chances to win door prizes and an opportunity to find everything you need for you and your furry family members at our participating vendors. There is free admission and free parking. All pets welcome (must be on a non-retractable leash).

Fresh Fields Village Fall Festival Weekend – continues on Saturday, October 10 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. This free, family-friendly event will feature a variety of activities for each generation. Enjoy live music as you browse a fall Farmer’s Market featuring seasonal goods and produce along with an art show featuring the Kiawah & Seabrook Artist Guilds. Kids will enjoy complimentary face painting, inflatable games, mechanical bull, and fall crafts.  Food and beverages will be available for purchase from a variety of local vendors.

Lowcountry Festa Italiana -The King Street Marketing Group and the Italy America Chamber of Commerce introduce the Charleston Italian Festival. The event will be a celebration of Italian culture, arts, food, wine and automobiles. It will be held on Daniel Island from noon to 7:00 p.m., September 19, the Feast of San Gennaro.

Big Swampin Bluegrass Festival – Come out and enjoy some music starting at 1pm. There will be free canoe rentals, free jump castles and free Stony Landing House tours. Also there will be food available to purchase.

Charleston Night Market – Area ​Artists and Artisans will take over the Charleston City Market as  THE NIGHT MARKET continues this weekend! The Night Market is located in the Charleston City Market, Charleston’s #1 most visited attraction; a venue where over 50 area artisans, artists, food vendors, and local musicians gather together, each Friday, Saturday & night, to create a memorable evening. 6:30 pm-10:30 pm.

Boone Hall Fright Nights! – Live actors. state of the art technology, and elaborate sets combine to ramp up the scare factor at South Carolina’s largest multi-attraction haunted event. Be prepared to be scared. Dates are set and for this legendary Lowcountry favorite for fright fun and excitement.

Long Miles with Ben Fagan & the Holy City Hooligans and John the Conquerer – From the suburbs of Philadelphia, with sounds infecting the East Coast and beyond, Long Miles brings you melodies from a light heart. The band likes to shine in their own way, bringing good vibes to people wherever they take the stage. With heroes like Phish, Umphrey’s McGee, Steel Pulse, and G. Love & Special Sauce, Long Miles strives to feed the need for the groovy, bouncy, feel-good tunes that make these groups so well known.

Events in Charleston Sunday, October 11th

Second Sunday on King Street – On the second Sunday of each month, King Street is blocked off from Calhoun to Queen Street from 1 to 5 pm. It allows pedestrians to enjoy everything that King Street has to offer, while leisurely strolling through the street.  Second Sunday provides live music, and emphasizes the great shopping and abundance of different restaurants on the Charleston peninsula.

 Bulls Island Beach Drop – This seldom-offered trip brings guests directly to one of the most secluded and pristine beaches in the world for shelling, swimming, birding, and a chance to reconnect with nature.   The Bulls Island Beach Drop is one of Charleston’s best outdoor adventures.

Swing Dancing at Prohibition – Participate in a free swing dance lesson, which is followed by live swing music at Prohibition bar.
