Weekend Events In Charleston On Friday, September 9th

Charleston Restaurant Week – one of the most highly anticipated culinary events in the Charleston area! It is an opportunity to enjoy the world-renowned cuisine of the Lowcountry as participating restaurants offer prix fixe lunch and dinner menus.

Palmetto Brewing Loading Dock Music Series – Join Palmetto Brewing for the 2016 Loading Dock Music Series. Live shows every Friday at 289 Huger St. Performances begin at 6, and the music goes until close at 10PM!

Charleston Night Market – Area ​Artists and Artisans will take over the Charleston City Market as  THE NIGHT MARKET continues this weekend! The Night Market is located in the Charleston City Market, Charleston’s #1 most visited attraction; a venue where over 50 area artisans, artists, food vendors, and local musicians gather together, each Friday, Saturday & night, to create a memorable evening. 6:30 pm-10:30 pm.

Charleston RiverDogs Playoff Game – The South Atlantic League playoffs are finally here. The Charleston RiverDogs will take on the Rome Braves for the 2nd game of the postseason at home after losing Game 1 on the road.

When: Friday, 7:05 p.m.

Films On The Field – MUSC Health Stadium presents a wild adventure for you and your family to enjoy with the viewing of Disney’s, Zootopia. Gather with your friends and family during the next Films on the Field. Come early to enjoy food trucks (Mac Daddy, Ben & Jerry’s and Chick Fil-A), kettle korn, jump castles and visit with Pet Helpers, who will be on site providing information.

Phish & Grateful Dead Celebration – Come celebrate the music of Phish and The Grateful Dead at The Phall Grand Ball in the Hall.  The event will feature Holly Bowling, a classically trained pianist who has reimagined the music of Phish and The Grateful Dead for solo piano, and Charleston’s own, Runaway Gin.

Baroness @ The Music Farm – BARONESS has just returned from their first ever Coachella performance and a massive US tour alongside MASTODON and BEWTEEN THE BURIED & ME. The band is preparing to wow crowds this summer at some of the world’s best music festivals including Bonnaroo (US), Oya (Norway), Eurockenees (France), and more.

Weekend Events In Charleston On Saturday, September 10th

Cast Off Fishing Tournament –  There’s plenty of fish to be caught during the Cast Off Fishing Tournament Series at the Mount Pleasant and Folly Beach Piers! Enter the spring’s largest fishing tournament with prizes awarded for the following categories: Adult Angler, Lady Angler, Youth Angler (12 and under), Senior Angler (60+), and Total Weight of Five Fish.

Charleston Farmers Market – Located in Marion Square in the heart of Historic District in Downtown Charleston, SC, the CFM is open each Saturday, from April 9th through November 26th, 8 AM to 2 PM. There are a variety of local produce, plants, herbs and cut flowers as well as breakfast and lunch vendors, live entertainment and an assortment of juried arts and crafts from local artisans.

Johns Island Homegrown Farmers Market – The aim of Homegrown is to be a point of sustainable connection for the Lowcountry community. Homegrown also holds a mission of bringing interactive ways to educate your community on the health and environmental benefits of making sustainable choices. Homegrown offers classes, demos, and interactive opportunities for locals to be active in making sustainable choices in their lives.

Where: 3546 Maybank Hwy, Johns Island

When: Saturday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

2016 Paw-ker Run – there will be BBQ from Swig and Swine, Mike Freund Band, lots of vendors in the Alley!  And so much more at the Lowcountry Harley Davidson in Charleston. This event is a fundraiser for SPCA which benefits local animal shelters.

TreeHouse @ The Charleston Pour House – Community Drum Circle Jam kicks off the day’s festivities at 2pm, so bring a hand drum or any percussion and join in! Live Art. Craft Vendors. Local Food.  Musical acts include: See Water, Signal Fire, Little Stranger, Elephant, Convoy, Bubba Love, ClarifEye and DJ sets by Operation Culture & G of Circuit Trio.

A Night To Remember Gala – The evening begins with wine, beer and silent auction, followed by a CSO concert (separate ticket required) featuring renowned pianist Leon Fleisher. The post-concert Gala dinner includes a special live auction, extravagant food and drink, dancing and special entertainment, all wrapped up in the elegant and starry atmosphere of the 1930’s.

Broadway Rocks! – This high energy evening brings together exciting vocalists from the Broadway stage performing selections from Rock and contemporary Broadway hits.  Featured in this show are selections from such popular musicals as Wicked, Hairspray, The Lion King, Mamma Mia, Rent, The Wiz and more!

Charleston Battery Soccer Home Game – Join the Charleston Battery as they support National Leukemia Lymphoma Awareness Month during their match against Bethlehem Steel FC. The team will wear limited edition orange jerseys on the field that will be auctioned off by Bidr following the match.

Shaggin’ On The Cooper – Dust off your dancing shoes and get ready for summer and Shaggin’ on the Cooper! Live music of all varieties will fill the air with local bands performing throughout the season at the Mount Pleasant Pier. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Weekend Events In Charleston On Sunday, September 11th

Charleston Beer Week Kicks Off! – As the nation’s craft beer industry grows exponentially, so has the local craft beer scene over the last few years. We boast 14 production breweries (with 6 in planning), numerous craft beer-focused pubs and stores. Join us during the second week of September as we highlight the wide variety of brands enjoyed in the city today with a wide variety of unique events.

North Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market – The Rusty Rudder Mount Pleasant is proud to host the North Mt. Pleasant Farmers’ and Craft Market Every Sunday from 11am-3pm. Featuring items from local vendors in the Lowcountry.

Sunday Brunch Farmers Market – This is an opportunity specifically for small producers and new and beginning businesses who source locally to sell amongst their peers and to develop their market base. There will be live music and tons of local vendors. Please come out and support us!

2nd Sunday On King Street – for four hours King Street (south of Calhoun Street) is only open to pedestrians as they stroll from storefront to storefront to browse, eat, or drink. Musicians will be playing their jams, and you can usually score a sample or two of food and drinks if you’re lucky.

Stout Night @ The Barrel – Part of Charleston Beer Week, The Barrel will be breaking out the stouts for this event, featuring some amazing, delicious and dark libations.

Swing Dance @ Prohibition – Participate in a free swing dance lesson, which is followed by swing music performed by the V-Tones every Wednesday and Sunday evening.
