Michael Flynn Album Release at Charleston Music Hall – With special guests Johnny Delaware and Grace Joyner, Michael Flynn is releasing his first solo album, “Face in the Cloud”.  Charleston-based singer songwriter has been part of indie-pop duo, Slowrunner, and have had feature songs on Grey’s Anatomy, Shameless and a handful of commercials. $15 at the door. Doors open at 7pm. Charleston Music Hall, 37 John Street.

Upper King Shop and Stroll – Art Mecca will be featuring local artists Andrea Lopez and Lara Neece. The gallery will be serving complimentary wine and hors d’ oeuvres.  Free event. 5-8pm. Art Mecca, 427 King Street

Saturday August 16

Fly Fishing School – Join Charleston Angler’s Captain John Irwin in a half-day fly fishing lesson that Includes use of equipment and lunch. Casting, knots, flies, and how-to basics will be covered. The class size is limited to 10 so you won’t get lost in the crowd. This class only happens once a month during the summer months so don’t miss out if you have always wanted to learn the basics of fly fishing. $75 prepaid registration required. 9am-3pm. Endless Summer Block Party and Bikini Fashion Show – This will be a fun event benefitting the local chapter of the Eastern Surfing Association. The party will mostly be centered in the front parking lot and will include live music, a fashion show, two outdoor bars, a silent auction, a dunk tank, and a raffle. Music by Hit or Miss, the Dub Tones with American Idol contestant, Elise Testone playing at 7pm. Party starts at 2pm. $5 donation suggested. Mex 1 Coastal Cantina, 817 St. Andrews Blvd.

Shaggin’ on the Cooper – Dance under the moonlight and the Cooper River Bridge this Saturday with other shag lovers. A summer tradition, Shaggin’ on the Cooper is soon coming to a close, with this being the second to last Saturday evening for the summer. Food and drinks available for purchase.
