Carolina Surf Film Festival – The Carolina Surf Film Festival’s mission is to celebrate the vibrant surf culture of the Carolinas by showcasing the artistic vision and expression of contemporary surf films from around the globe. Since the 1960’s, Charleston has been home to a community of dedicated surfers. With the area’s abundance of natural beauty and rich history, our beloved city by the sea provides an epic backdrop for the 2nd annual Carolina Surf Film Festival.

Charleston Fall Greek Festival – The entire Greek community, welcomes you and your family to join us in a celebration of the food, wine and music of Greece. Come out and be a part of a Charleston tradition, the atmosphere is filled with the sounds, tastes and aromas of delicious foods, live music and the warmth of family and newly made friends.

Charleston Comedy Festival Standup Competition – There are 4 exciting prelim rounds this fall for the Charleston Comedy Festival Stand Up Competition. Each prelim will featuring 14 stand ups performing five minute sets each. The audience will vote with ballots for their top four favorites and they will move on to the next round.

Charleston Night Market – Area Artists and Artisans will take over the Charleston City Market as THE NIGHT MARKET continues this weekend! The Night Market is located in the Charleston City Market, Charleston’s #1 most visited attraction; a venue where over 50 area artisans, artists, food vendors, and local musicians gather together, each Friday, Saturday & night, to create a memorable evening. 6:30 pm-10:30 pm.

Duke: King of Jazz Dance Musical Take the “A Train” back to the 1930s in this original dance musical! Join us for an electrifying evening spent at the world famous Cotton Club with the Duke Ellington Orchestra and dynamic floorshow entertainment featuring the Cotton Club Dancers! (Approx. 90 minutes in length with one 15-minute intermission)

Dogtoberfest – Bring your dog, sip some wine and help out local pet rescues at the ninth annual Dogtoberfest: Dogs, Dine and Wine Pet Expo. The event, which brings together pet rescue organizations from around the Loowcountry, returns to Freshfields Village near Kiawah Island on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 1-5 p.m. In addition to meet-and-greets with local rescue groups and the annual wine tasting, this free event include:
• Delicious food trucks
• Live entertainment
• On-site vendors
• Pet costume contest
• Blessing of the animals
• Exciting prizes and giveaways, and more!

The 2015 Joe Hiller Longboard Classic Surf Competition – The 2015 JOE HILLER LONGBOARD CLASSIC will take place Saturday October 17th at the Isle of Palms County Park, Sunday is the 2nd day if needed. The Carolina Surf Film Festival is also stoked as they have some special swag for the paid contestants.

Cast Off Fishing Tournament – Part of the Memorial Waterfront Park complex, the 1250-foot long Mount Pleasant Pier stretches out into Charleston Harbor under the foot of the Arthur Ravenel, Jr. Bridge. Along with beautiful views, the pier offers great fishing! The Folly Beach Pier is one of the best destinations in the Lowcountry for pier fishing.

Charleston Farmers Market – The CFM is dedicated to the support and advocacy of Lowcountry farmers, growers, prepared/packaged food, artisans, crafters and live performers. We offer a variety of local produce, plants, herbs and cut flowers as well as breakfast and lunch vendors, live entertainment and an assortment of juried arts and crafts from local artisans. Attracting citizens and visitors alike, the CFM is the community connection, bringing together people from all parts of the Lowcountry and beyond. Johns Island Homegrown Farmers Market – The aim of Homegrown is to be a point of sustainable connection for the Lowcountry community. We want this market to be a one-stop-shop for everything on your shopping list to be sourced locally. Homegrown also holds a mission of bringing interactive ways to educate your community on the health and environmental benefits of making sustainable choices. Homegrown offers classes, demos, and interactive opportunities for locals to be active in making sustainable choices in their lives. (i.e. observation bee hives, crochet/craft classes, live animal and homesteading information).

6th Annual Jazz Jam: A Tribute to Mother Emauel AME Church – Organized by Dennis Fassuliotis, local businessman and founder of the Charleston Jazz Club, and Steve Simon, renowned jazz musician and concert producer, the 6th Annual Charleston Jazz Jam is an unscripted, unrehearsed four-hour live jazz concert that is free to the public and will feature over 50 of the greatest jazz musicians in Charleston.
