Memorial Day Weekend Events in Charleston on Friday, May 27th

Spoleto USA Kicks Off! – For 17 days and nights each spring, Spoleto Festival USA fills Charleston, South Carolina’s historic theaters, churches, and outdoor spaces with performances by renowned artists as well as emerging performers in opera; theater; dance; and chamber, symphonic, choral, and jazz music.

Where: Multiple venues throughout Charleston

When: May 27th – June 12th

Party At The Point Dave Matthews Tribute Band – Beyond mastering the DMB sound and the relentless touring, what separates the Dave Matthews Tribute Band from other cover bands is their passion, love, and respect for DMB and their music. All Events are $7.00.
Cash Only for entry and food/beer inside the venue.

Palmetto Brewing Loading Dock Music Series – Join Palmetto Brewing for the 2016 Loading Dock Music Series. Live shows every Friday at 289 Huger St. Performances begin at 6, and the music goes until close at 10PM!

Charleston Night Market – Area ​Artists and Artisans will take over the Charleston City Market as  THE NIGHT MARKET continues this weekend! The Night Market is located in the Charleston City Market, Charleston’s #1 most visited attraction; a venue where over 50 area artisans, artists, food vendors, and local musicians gather together, each Friday, Saturday & night, to create a memorable evening. 6:30 pm-10:30 pm.

Legends In The South Baseball Game – Rosters for the inaugural “Legends in the South” Alumni Game presented by Budweiser and Container Maintenance that pits former Atlanta Braves stars against those from the New York Yankees are set, and the players are currently arriving in town.

Bike From Work Party – Come check out PULP Gallery and Bookstore‘s latest exhibit, Stranger Than Fiction, and cap your #BikeMonthCHS celebration in style! D!Z ofOhm Radio Charleston & The SOUL Preservation Society of Charleston will be spinning soul/funk 45s, there will be gratis beer from Freehouse Brewery, Platia Food Truck, a silent bike-themed film, pop-up bike parking.

The Train Wrecks @ Hometeam BBQ – A musical force from the moss-draped Old South, The Train Wrecks are a hard-working band of songwriters and performers who love nothing more than good songs and a good show. They deliver a dynamic, original blend of Americana.

Memorial Day Weekend Events in Charleston on Saturday, May 28th

Charleston Farmers Market – Located in Marion Square in the heart of Historic District in Downtown Charleston, SC, the CFM is open each Saturday, from April 9th through November 26th, 8 AM to 2 PM. There are a variety of local produce, plants, herbs and cut flowers as well as breakfast and lunch vendors, live entertainment and an assortment of juried arts and crafts from local artisans.

Johns Island Homegrown Farmers Market – The aim of Homegrown is to be a point of sustainable connection for the Lowcountry community. Homegrown also holds a mission of bringing interactive ways to educate your community on the health and environmental benefits of making sustainable choices. Homegrown offers classes, demos, and interactive opportunities for locals to be active in making sustainable choices in their lives.

The Gibbes Museum Grand Reopening – Explore the new galleries and experience our two temporary exhibtions: The Things We Carry: Contemporary Art in the South and Beyond Catfish Row: The Art of Porgy and Bess. (Free to Museum Members; $12 adults; $10 seniors, military and students; $6.

The Atlantic Cup – presented by 11th Hour Racing is a hard-fought, intense double-handed, offshore race held on the eastern seaboard of the United States every other spring in the even years. Some of the best short-handed sailors around the globe vie for the chance to take hold of The Atlantic Cup!

Charleston Veggie Crawl – Take an inside look at fresh, local, plant-based cuisine in a flourishing corner of Charleston, SC, with The Kale Whale’s “Veggie Crawl.” This food tour will get your heart pumping with a walk to each stop, where you’ll sample a delicious vegan dish and we’ll drop knowledge about the noms.

Summer Kick Off Party @ Bohemian Bull – Start your summer off right at our Summer Kick-Off Party! Come out on Saturday, May 28th for a backyard bash in the beautiful beer garden! Live music all day and night, great drink specials, frozen treats for the grown-ups from SnoBar, and so much more!

Palmetto Music Festival – Platt Entertainment brings to you the “Palmetto Music Festival” Saturday, May 28th at the Hanahan Amphitheater. Featured bands are: Jawga Boyz, The Lacs and Cowboy Troy , opening band – Brady Smith.

Southeastern Beard & Mustache Championships – This is the return of one of the biggest and baddest beard & moustache events in the country! The weekend will include a Welcome to Chucktown Party on Fri night, BBQ lunch Sat, the SEBMC Sat night and a Morning After Brunch Sun morning. As always, the proceeds from this event will be donated to charity.

Rock Pink 5K – It’s a night race with a course lit by thousands of pink candlelights and has 3 or 4 music stations on the course.  As far as swag we always make it cool, last year we had shirts, water bottles and Koozies.  This year will be another surprise. We will have a costume contest, a face painting table, and lots of fun other stuff.

Perpetual Groove @ Charleston Pour House – Perpetual Groove is a long time well established touring act with an enthusiastic fan base and international critical acclaim. PGroove’s music has been described by their fans as anthemic arena rock.

Spazmatics @ The Windjammer – While rocking the College of Charleston in the early 80’s, the band was deemed too dangerous, too cool, and too rocking to exist – because they looked too geeky. he boys did travel through time and are back on stages in the Lowcountry, reclaiming their position as the coolest geeks of 80’s rock.

Mimosas In Miami Sunday Brunch – Mimosas in Miami Sunday Brunch is back! Bring your friends to the Americano and enjoy $5 mimosas, $3 Dos Equis and food specials. Hit the dancefloor from 1-4 with music from DJ Luigi Bravo!

Sunday Brunch Farmers Market – This is an opportunity specifically for small producers and new and beginning businesses who source locally to sell amongst their peers and to develop their market base. There will be live music and tons of local vendors. Please come out and support us!

North Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market – The Rusty Rudder Mount Pleasant is proud to host the North Mt. Pleasant Farmers’ and Craft Market Every Sunday from 11am-3pm. Featuring items from local vendors in the Lowcountry.

Casaveda @ Edmund’s Oast – Edmund’s Oast will host alternative rock band—Casaveda—for a special one night show in the Courtyard on Sunday, May 29. Based in Orlando, FL, Casaveda plays 60s and 70s rock with a modern day alternative sound.

Outshyne @ The Windjammer – Outshyne is a country band who hales from South Carolina. Their music has a country feel with rock overtones. Originally formed in 2007, of high school friends playing after work.
