Condé Nast Traveler Names Charleston Best Small City
After being ranked the number one city in America for four years in a row, Charleston sealed the deal once again by taking home the title as “Best Small City in America” by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler. This year Charleston received a rating of 88.130 beating out Santa Fe, New Mexico which tallied a score of 85.861 followed by Park City, Utah which received a 84.866 rating. This year it appears that Condé Nast Traveler restructured its ranking system by dividing the category of “Best City in America” into 2 lists, one for small cities and one for big cities. Condé Nast named Charleston best small city, but New York City took home the best big city in America scoring a 85.944 followed by San Francisco with a 84.298 and Chicago which checked in at 83.875. Charleston Voted Best Ghost Tour in the Nation
Just in time for the Halloween season, Charleston garners another accolade for its haunted venues and spooky history. Bulldog Tours located in downtown Charleston was voted the best ghost tour in the nation. The readers of USA Today and Top10 ranked Bulldog Tours just ahead of Asheville based Appalachian Ghostwalks and Blue Orb Tours in Savannah, GA. The walking tour company has been open since 2001 and focuses on culinary and history tours around historic downtown Charleston.
