Fall Festivities!
October is finally here and all the Fall and Halloween festivities are in full force! Below is a list of events happening all month long so pick your weekend and head outside! There is so much to do in the Lowcountry this time of year!
Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze – Everyone is excited about the annual Boone Hall activities that happen all October long! This annual fall festival draws visitors of all ages from all over the state with a variety of fall attractions, events, activities, and of course, pumpkin patch fun. There will be plenty of pumpkins available paid for by the pound.The Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze will be open everyday October 1-31. Hours of operation will be Monday-Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 11am-6pm. Admission will be $10 each for ages 3 and up for all days the event is open. Boone Hall Fright Nights – Boone Hall Fright Nights is open and ready for guests! Now through Halloween! Celebrate the Halloween season at Boone Hall Plantation with tons of scary events for folks 12 years and older. Children are admitted but Boone Hall does NOT recommed that children under 12, pregnant women or people prone to strokes enter the event. Haunted hayrides, a zombie town and other attractions will scare even the most wicked of hearts. Close-toed shoes are highly recommended. Prices vary, $27 for an all-inclusive ticket. 38th Annual Fall Home and Garden Tour – Peek at heirloom silver and meander through carefully cultivated boxwoods during these docent-led tours that invite guests into some of the area’s most historic and architecturally significant dwellings. Comedian Nick Swardson’s “Taste It” Tour – Nick Swardson is a triple threat – a comedian, a writer/producer and an actor. He is best known for his recurring role as Terry Bernadino in the comedy series Reno 911!, and this Fall he is embarking on his own stand up comedy tour, “Taste It”. You can buy tickets through the link in the title, through Ticketmaster or LiveNation. Ticket prices start at $40. Doors open at 7pm, show begins at 8pm. Widespread – The 2014 Fall Tour kicks off in October with two dates in North Charleston, SC – Friday and Saturday! The tour will continue in the deep south with shows in Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi, before heading to Texas for a two night stand at the Moody Theatre in Austin. Party At The Point– Head to Charleston Harbor and Resort to enjoy the music of Atlas Road and the Tartlatans. Each Friday the resort opens up a full cash bar and and food options for all. $7 per person. 5:30-9:30pm. Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, 20 Patriots Point Rd, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464.

IOP Connector 10k Run and Walk – The Isle of Palms Connector Run and Walk for the Child returns on October 4, 2014. Proceeds benefit the prevention and healing of child abuse in the Charleston area. $40 for all race entries received between 10/3/2014 to 10/4/2014Online registration closes October 2nd so late entries must be submitted in-person during packet pick-up times.
Celadon’s 20th Anniversary Celebration – Come celebrate Celadon Home’s 20 years with an open discounted shop and local vendors and food trucks including: Cindy DeAntonio, Theodosia Jewelry, Rewined & Produce Candles, Lulie Wallace, Way Way Allen, Library Vintage, BlueStone Duo, Roti Rolls Food Truck and Champagne and Beer! Live bluegrass will be enjoyed throughout the event and the store will be open as usual but with the “party scene” throughout. Mayor Linda Page will be cutting the cake at noon. Hogs For A Cause Charleston – Hate Cancer but love BBQ, music and some cold beverages with friends? Welcome to the Hogs family! Enjoy BBQ from the finest chefs in the Lowcountry and relax to the tunes of some great bands all day long, Drive By Truckers being the headliner at 7pm. The purpose of Hogs for the Cause is to provide aid and relief of those variable expenses and economic burdens which families face while their child is being treated for pediatric brain cancer.
